Volunteering

Below are the current volunteer opportunities we have at the adoption centre. If you are interested in any, please click on it and complete the form. We will respond as soon as we are able. Thank you for considering volunteering with Cats Protection.

Applicants must be over 14 years of age and we would recommend own transport as we are remote. Please complete the form indicating how you'd like to help or give the centre a call. Thank you.

Our new Supawstore at Tottenhill also accepts volunteers, please get in touch with them direct Click here for more details.

‘Green fingers’ volunteer

Whilst we do everything we can to find new and loving homes for the cats in our care, it is a reality that our feline friends will have to spend some time in a rescue environment. Our ‘green fingers’ volunteers use their passion for the outdoors to help make our Cats Protection sites welcoming and enjoyable places for cats, people and wildlife. Cats are more likely to be rehomed if they are content in their environment, and members of the public are more likely to visit their local Cats Protection site if it is an enjoyable place to be.

Social media volunteer

Social media and cats go hand in hand, and our social media volunteers use their passion and knowledge of social media to promote the activities of local volunteer groups and teams though various channels. This is a volunteer role that can be done from home, on the train or even from the sofa! Our social media volunteers directly help our feline friends by helping raise awareness of Cats Protection.  A higher profile can help us raise the funds we need for our work, ensure people know they can adopt a cat from us, help promote neutering and help as many people as possible learn more about feline welfare.

Cat Care Volunteer

Across Cats Protection our feline friends looking for new homes are cared for either at our adoption centres, by volunteer fosterers in their own homes or in purpose built pens in their gardens. Our cat care volunteers are part of a passionate team that look after and meet the needs of cats whilst they are in our care. This is an exciting role for cat lovers, as our cat care volunteers get to spend time directly with the cats when cleaning their pens, helping with feeding and when enriching their lives before they find their forever homes.

Enquiries Volunteer

As a charity we receive numerous enquiries on a daily basis from members of the public related to cats and feline welfare. Our enquiries volunteers are part of a passionate team of volunteers that help Cats Protection signpost and manage these enquiries. They help our feline friends answering questions from members of the public, providing advice and signposting queries to other volunteers and staff if needed.
